چکیده
Class II malocclusion due to mandibular retrognathia is associated with a posterior positioning of the tongue and hyoid bone, reducing oropharyngeal volume. This could be contributing factor development respiratory cardiovascular problems. study evaluates volume variation in 13 patients class undergoing functional orthopedic treatment Sander Bite Jumping Appliance (SBJ). CBCT scans were performed before (T0) approximately after 12.5 months (T1): retropalatal retroglossal quantified mm3 using segmentation software. At T1, increased 2523 ± 2088 mm3, 2258 1717 mm3. Both values statistically significant (p < 0.05). widening airways may allow prevention sleep-disordered breathing, including obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.

OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to evaluate the morphological changes of upper airway after Twin Block (TB) treatment in growing patients with Class II division 1 malocclusion and mandibular retrusion compared with untreated Class II patients by cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty growing patients who have completed TB treatment were recruited into TB gr...
متن کاملDentoskeletal modifications in Class II deep bite malocclusion treatment with anterior bite plane functional appliance
BACKGROUND A treatment modality for Class II division 1 malocclusion is discussed. Orthodontic treatment of patients with deep bite and Class II malocclusion is an important challenge in clinical practice. The aim of this work is to compare the efficacy of anterior bite plane functional appliance (ABPFA) by assessing the changes in different times with untreated patients by literature. MATERI...
متن کاملCephalometric Analysis of Upper Airways in Adults with Class II Malocclusion in Qazvin
Background: Unusual enlargement of nasopharynx can disrupt air flow through the nose. The aim of this study was to investigate the cephalometric parameters in the upper airways. Methods: This retrospective descriptive study was conducted on 32 adults with Class II malocclusion without the history of night apnea in Qazvin. The radiographs were obtained from the...
